So while I’d hoped to see a few familiar faces out at DevFare, we still had an interesting day. One of the best parts of this small convention is that is put on by a student run group from ASU West. The students do all the work of organizing and run this event to support cosplay and geek fun. While there weren’t as many vendors as there have been in the past, we have to give a big shout out to DevFare. We met a lot of fans and some of our games actually found new homes. We also may have made a new fan for Gini Koch!
There was a buzz from the cosplayers. You could tell they had a lot of fun which was exciting to see. I loved some of the costumes. We saw everything from Bert from Mary Poppins to Spiderman. There was even a young lady dressed as Fiona from Shrek and another dressed up as one of the characters from IT. So much fun!
We were especially pleased to get to work with Catherine (Cat) LaCroix. She sat next to us, selling her book and her art prints. There was a lot of interest in her work and I loved getting to spend time with her at another event, one where she made new fans and got the opportunity to talk about her writing.
This will be the last event we have for the next couple months. Our next event will be huge! We will be working with AWW (Amazing Wyked Writers) at Phoenix Comic Fest in May. We will have more information and updates as we get closer to the date but for now, mark your calendars for May 24th-27th. We will be in aisles 1201/1300. See you out among the books!
