In Bridget and Gabe are Not Okay by Lex Croucher, we are treated to a daring and delightful sequel. What I love the most is that Bridget and Gabe are dealing with heavy consequences from the first book and the narrative never diminishes that aspect. As Gabriel and his court go on a quest, in the process, they learn more about themselves and how to deal with their issues. They are never cured but they do both learn that second chances can happen if you are willing to ask for help and listen.
I love how messy both Bridget and Gabe are in their relationships. Neither finds it easy to resolve or fix but nothing about true love should be easy. A real relationship takes work and communication. This novel demonstrates this perfectly. I also like that in this novel we get Bridget and Gabe’s point of view. I also liked the secondary characters and the journey the characters and the kingdom go on.
If you like believable love stories, second chances and characters struggling with mental health issues, this fantasy sequel to Gwen & Art Are Not in Love is a daring and delightful story. It is impossible to not feel hopeful about love after reading this book.
