For our next Out and About, Duncan’s Books and More will be coming to you at one of our favorite events, Tempe Fan-Con 2024 on January 27th, next Saturday. Ever since the first year we attended, we’ve loved coming out, selling our books, merchandise and working with authors, this library sponsored day has been a blast for fans and for our authors.

Each year on the 4th Saturday in January, the Tempe Public Library brings together fans from all over the valley for a celebration of all things cosplay, comics and pop culture for a fun and memorable experience.
Fans can enjoy this free annual family event jam-packed with local artists & authors, costume contests, games & activities, an escape room, photo ops with cosplayers, prizes, nearly 100 vendors and delicious food from local food trucks.
Fans of Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Anime, and more are invited to gather for the 2024 Tempe FanCon in costume for a celebration of pop culture.
What makes Tempe Fan-Con 2024 an exciting day for us is the many friends that we know will be joining us. We have a terrific round-up of authors working with us: Tam Chronin with her fantasy focused on LGBTQ characters, PJ Hulstrand with books recently optioned by Penguin Publishing, Ronald C. Tobin, and possibly more!
Beyond the authors we will be working side by side with, we look forward to old friends, like author Dani Hoots/Fox Craft Apothecary, Blue Ribbon Army, Kids Need to Read, and SD Simper to name a few of the vendors out for the day.
No matter what you like, comics, jewelry, art, books, or cosplay, there is something for everyone. Tempe Fan-Con is also bringing out food vendors such as Sugar Box Sweets, Sublime Cheesesteaks, Mustache Pretzels, Mobile Pizza Company, and Cactus Corn. With such a wonderful selection of eateries, I will be hard pressed to choose my treat for the day.
If you love books or comics, come join us for the day. We love hanging with our friends, talking about books, art, and jewelry. Most of all, we look forward to hanging with all the fellow nerds who love pop culture and all its variations!
